About me
My name is Alejandra. I was born in Chile, a beautiful country in South America. I studied Nutrition and Dietetics there, and after graduating, I came to the UK to live. I lived for nearly a year in Bristol (England) and now I am based in Edinburgh (Scotland). During all this time, I haven been doing in-person and online nutritional consultations with patients from all over the world. I am a registered dietitian (HCPC) and a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
I have been following a plant-based diet since 2017, and have been specialising in this area, as well as in the area of physical activity and psycho-nutrition. I believe we are a complex system, that must be approached taking into account all of our different dimensions (cultural, spiritual, social and emotional).
By following a plant-based diet, I have learnt all the benefits it brings, whether to our health, the environment and the animals. However you don’t have to follow this type of diet to have a consultation with me, I will help you if you prefer other diet patterns. The important thing here is that you achieve a good health and that you feel good with yourself.
My motivation is to help you achieve your nutritional goals and help you engage in and manage your own good health. To achieve this, I assess each patient individually and thoroughly, so I can make an integral and evidence-based nutritional plan that you can follow.
One of my main pillars is try and go back to a more natural diet. This means, try to avoid ultra-processed foods and prefer the real, whole foods on a daily basis. I will lead you with specific information, tips, counselling and recipe ideas to help you eat more natural!
If some of this made sense to you, then I welcome you to have a look on my website, read the blog and explore the services I offer. If you want, book an appointment, or write to me with your questions and I’ll be happy to reply!
